This Web seminar discusses approaches for using discipline-based texts to support content area learning. Heather Lattimer shares research-grounded, classroom-tested strategies for engaging students with challenging texts that are authentic to the discipline. The session encourages participation from teachers of history, science, mathematics, and the arts, as well as English/language arts teachers interested in strengthening the use of expository texts in the classroom. Topics addressed include the following:
